This assignment is due on February 27th 2012. If you are having any problems and need assistance please see me well in advance of this deadline. Late assignments will not be accepted and an alternative assignment will be assigned. Remember to have fun designing your city of the future! Mr.Castellano Geography Assignment- Planning Your Community You are an experienced Urban Planner. You and your working partner have been asked to create your ideal community. You should plan for your community to grow and to support a variety of people and conditions. For this project you will be given class time as well as lab time. This project may involve getting together with your partner outside of school to complete. This is why I have allowed you to choose a partner that you can easily meet. Ensure that you have included and followed all of the steps. 1) Consider the SITE, SITUATION, and LOCATION of your community. Think of what will favour growth. 2) Create a name for your city. 3) Design a model of your city that clearly shows the various designated land uses. You are free to use your creativity for this model. You can make a 3-D Model, a Smart Notebook File, a computer-generated map, hand drawn map etc. Try to make it appealing to the eye so people are encouraged to move or invest in your community. 4) Prepare an oral presentation to be presented in front of the class that discusses the above information and explain why your community is well positioned to become a flourishing city of the future. Use the following link to assist you in your planning. This is the official plan for the City of Windsor. If you click on the various Schedules at the bottom of the page you can see computer generated maps indicating various uses of land. This may help you in planning your ideal city. http://www.citywindsor.ca/residents/planning/planning-department/windsor—official-plan/pages/official-plan—volumes-i-and-ii.aspx Good morning Grade 7, follow these links to help you prepare for upcoming assessment in Chapter 4. Mr. Castellano Hello class, below is a link to some time connectives. This should help you write your recount. Time connectives allow the reader to keep track of the chronological order of a text. They also help to organize the text so that it is easy to follow along. Make sure to use time connectives in your recount writing since they are part of the rubric. Hopefully the link is helpful. http://simonsideprimary.files.wordpress.com/2010/02/timeconnectives1.pdf Good morning class, Below are the links for reviewing square roots.
